Arnison Shopping Park

Arnison Shopping Park is a major out-of-town retail destination, in the Durham suburb of Pity Me.

Also known as Arnison Retail Centre, the park boasts a wide range of major UK retail names such as Marks and Spencer, Next, Sainsbury's and Asda.

The shopping area is split into two sections with a large Sainsbury's superstore in-between.

The Sainsbury's store sells groceries, plus non-food items such as homewares, electricals and their Tu clothing range. Inside Sainsbury's you'll also find a Lloyds Pharmacy and a digital Argos shop.

The Argos store sells their most popular ranges including toys, technology and furniture, plus you can order online from their full catalogue to collect here.

The main section has recently been extended and refurbished. It is now home to High Street fashion stores such as Next, New Look, River Island, Nike and JD.

There is also an Outfit store, within which you'll find popular fashion names such as Topshop, Top Man, Warehouse, Dorothy Perkins and Miss Selfridge.

A major attraction of the shopping park is its Marks and Spencer, which has clothing and home ranges over two floors, plus a food hall and a cafe.

Other popular High Street names present are Boots, Wilko, Superdrug, Mountain Warehouse, Card Factory and The Works. There is also an Oak Furnitureland hardwood furniture store.

The Lakeland store here has closed down.

If you are looking for a new mobile phone, the shopping park has EE and Carphone Warehouse branches.

To the side of the Sainsbury's you'll find an Asda Living store, selling Asda's popular non-food ranges such as George clothing, home furnishings, toys and electricals.

A Smyths Toys superstore is also here, as well as Halfords, Laura Ashley, Majestic Wine and Pets at Home.

Just outside the shopping park is a Lidl supermarket.

The Arnison Centre has a large car park with over 1,500 spaces. Customer parking is free, with a four hour maximum stay.

There is a Sainsbury's petrol station on-site.

Food and Drink

There are plenty of café's and restaurants here if you are in need of a break from the shopping.

You'll find in-store cafes within Asda Living, Sainsbury's and M&S, plus a Costa inside Next. There is a Subway sandwich shop, a Greggs bakery, a Frankie and Benny's restaurant, KFC and a McDonalds with a drive thru.

Arnison Shopping Park is located two miles north of Durham City Centre, in the Pity Me area of the city. It is located off Rotary Way and easily reached from the main A167 trunk road. Sat Nav users should use postcode DH1 5GB.

Buses 14, 50, 59, 62 and 64 stop at the shopping park.
